Happy Birthday today to our darlin’ fabulous mama, who would come back from the grave and snatch me baldheaded if I told how old she would be. This beautiful pastel portrait is by talented dear friend @maureentoneill11 whom Mama loved. Maureen said this image just came to her one night, not long after Mama died in 2005, and she captured it. It is one of my favorite portraits of her, and I treasure it. Am thinking today too of so many fabulous ladies Ive been lucky to have had in my life who have recently left this earth – @cariboo24 @ninaggg among them. Though I imagine they are up to something, wherever they are. @duvallfuqua
