One more, sans scaffolding and tourists (except us 😉 David was meant to be one of many decorating the roof of a church, but was soon deemed too “magnifico” and so stood in its 18’+ foot-tall glory outside the city hall for 300 years before the Accademia was built to accommodate it. #thedavid #michaelangelo #accademia #florence #firenze #ilgigantico
