A foraged centerpiece in a pinch for an informal dinner with friends last week before leaving for the East Coast, where I am now. Just rose around the ranch and picked what I could- oak leaves, succulents, poker plant, a few wild flowers and grasses, and the last bits of status. Whatever works, right?!

Happy to be in the “hive” of Richmond and speaking to the Tuckahoe Woman’s Club today about #thebeecottagestory and bee-yond. And look at this adorable #beehive made by wrapping twine around a balloon, adhered by #modpodge. There is one on every table, along with handmade raffia flowers. These ladies are so lovely amd so talented!

Yes this is who you think it is:
my mother. Today would have been her 89th birthday. Miss her everyday. As for Elton, he thought she was pretty cool, too. Happy Birthday Mama!

The vineyard early this morning bejeweled in icicles. We have to water the early budding vines to keep the freezing temps from “burning” them. Beautiful, but also unsettling because we never know how it will affect the fruit later. .

Was just perusing the beautiful book of @carmeloblandinoart and came upon this, just what I needed to hear today. You too? Funny. And btw “the art” is whatever that means to you – it could be driving carpool, fixing supper, doing laundry, gardening, or yes, actual art-art, but I take this in the context of life as art.

Valentine blossoms linger in a simple tablescape inspired by the fresh, lighthearted style of @cathybgraham and her book #secondbloom. Multiple vases with a stem or three amd a scattering of petals, silver candlesticks, and votives. .

Clouds gathering in Santa Barbara reflect the most beautiful light, though we hold our collective breath about the rain. Current reports allay fears for time being. .

Know how he feels! Beautiful Greek bronze in the Met’s Michaelangelo exhibit. Michaelangelo copied it in marble and it was reportedly indistinguishable from the bronze. .
