Leaving CO this morning… The sunrise looks like #fireonthemountain ! I did not paint well this week but learned some good lessons – one of which is there is no substitute for practice. Havjng a good eye, some drawing skill, etc are all fine, but mixing and putting on the paint takes doing it and doing it and doing it …. It’s a goal for the future, and meanwhile something is better than nothing. But for NOW, we’ve got a book to put out there! #californiacokkingandsouthernstyle is featured on @theglampad ‘s blog! Wowie zowie am so thrilled and grateful! More on that soon!

A waiter sees to the final touches on this beautiful table for a young friend’s very special party last night in New York. I stopped by in case she needed any last minute help and to snap some pics for her mama. She was completely organized and all was perfectly in hand, but I did get some photos. The flowers were beautiful, as ever @lagrenouillenyc and the staff attentive and expert. This upstairs room was once the studio of painter #bernardlamotte and quite the social hub in its day. Still is! .
