Sooo much to do and see in Charleston, with some of the prettiest, oldest, and best-preserved houses and gardens in the country, despite the Civil War and many un-civil hurricanes. Rainbow Row, pictured here, is a favorite of tourists and locals alike. While you’re there be sure to pop one block over to visit Catfish Row, with its fascinating history and made famous in George Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. And good news for art aficionados is that the Spoleto Festival will be live this year, beginning May 28, and Charleston will be abuzz as it has not been for months and months…and months. So a big bravo to that. Other Holy City delights include shopping on King Street, shucking oysters at Bowens Island, and wandering under the Angel Oak branches.
