An unfinished (and suckly) version of this was on my easel when I returned to the studio today, and i just said sod it and painted big shapes and colors and values and that was that. 20-30 minutes. It isn’t correct, or a finished piece or anything Id frame, but it was a reminder of an important lesson: simplify, squint, and go for it. .
