Count me in. My only regret in attending the tag sale of the century–Elizabeth Taylor’s jewels and Albert Hadley’s One King’s Lane loot notwithstanding–is that most of the clothes will be of a size that would barely fit around my leg, let alone the rest of me. But hey, pocketbooks, […]

Count me in. My only regret in attending the tag sale of the century–Elizabeth Taylor’s jewels and Albert Hadley’s One King’s Lane loot notwithstanding–is that most of the clothes will be of a size that would barely fit around my leg, let alone the rest of me. But hey, pocketbooks, scarves and shoes don’t care how much you weigh. Neither does jewelry, thank heaven, and in addition to Nina Griscom’s and Carolyne Roehm’s fab rags and riches will be the gorgeous creations of the equally gorgeous Kirat Young. May 9 and 10 at the Regency Hotel in New York, on the corner of Park and 61st Street, from 10 to 7. The sale is private but the stylish and privileged readers of FrancesSchultz.com are welcome. But of course you are.

In case you were born yesterday or did not look at a magazine between 1982 and 1992, Nina and Carolyne were quite the glamour girls around town, and the truth is they still are. See Nina Griscom’s great-looking townhouse in Architectural Digest, where she is a contributing editor, and the post I wrote about it. And read here about all beautiful things Carolyne Roehm.

They’re just a little more low key these days, but oh they have their stories. Speaking of, this sale is a story in itself, judging from the press it’s gotten. Whether you buy or not, go just for the happeningness of it.

Oh how I wish I was in New York! You know how much I love this stuff!!!

  2. I would so love to be there … and I practically had to sit on my hands not to buy up Albert Hadley’s sketches on OKL!

  3. You have to post your finds! This has to be the tag sale of the century.

    • Ok I will… I did score a really pretty fur-trimmed cape from Carolyne’s collection, and a faux croc Max Mara tote bag… photos to come…
